Winter by Represent

It depends how cold it gets, and how wet. Our down-filled puffer gives you the most warmth for the least weight, which is why it works layered under something heavier or worn alone in dry cold. The cotton canvas parka handles wind and rain better, and with a removable quilted liner it becomes two coats rather than one. Brushed wool overcoats sit at the smarter end, warm without the bulk.

Start close to the skin and build outwards. A cotton tee or long sleeve first, a knit or heavyweight hoodie over it, then your outer layer last. The trick is leaving room and showcasing the layers. Our knitwear and hoodies are cut boxy and slightly cropped, so an oversized outer layer sits over the top without pulling across the back. If you run warm, a parka with a removable liner lets you drop a layer without changing coat.

Alpaca is lighter and warmer by weight than sheep's wool, and it holds less moisture, so it feels drier against the skin. It's softer too, without the prickle people associate with wool. Our knitwear leans on Suri alpaca blended with wool and nylon for warmth that keeps its shape through the season, alongside pure Italian wool where we want more structure and a heavier hand.

Mostly boxy and relaxed. Much of the season is cut on the Owners Club block, boxy through the body with a slightly cropped length, and the outerwear runs oversized on purpose so it layers properly.

If you want a closer fit, size down. Denim is the exception, built on its own blocks that run from straight leg through to curve and flare, so check the individual product page.

Heavier cloth. Winter is when heavyweight denim earns itself, holding its shape and cutting the wind in a way lighter jeans don't. Fit matters just as much. A straight or baggy leg sits cleanly over a boot, while the curved and flared blocks are cut to stack at the hem rather than bunch. If you're layering heavy up top, a wider leg keeps the proportions balanced.
